Directives aux auteurs-es

The Journal welcomes articles on educational leadership, research use, and policy. The Journal seeks to build bridges between researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to help identify best practices in research use, learning, teaching, policymaking and leadership. Individuals from each group, therefore, are encouraged to submit articles for publication. Articles should focus on studies and systematic analyses that employ qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methodologies. Because of its international scope, authors are encouraged to focus on the underlying aspects of their research that make the work relevant for the larger community of educators and policymakers.

Articles must be original research that has not been published previously and should focus on empirical studies and systematic analysis that employ qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methodologies. Because of its international scope, authors are encouraged to focus on the underlying aspects of their research that make the work relevant for the larger community of scholars, educators, and policymakers. Please note that we do not publish book reviews.

Articles should be between 5,000 to 8,000 total words, this range includes the abstract and references. Articles should use the bibliographic and formatting standards found in the most recent Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. In addition to their submitted papers, authors are encouraged to include other supplementary files they feel are relevant to reviewers and readers of the journal, including data-sets, research instruments, etc. Finally, authors are encouraged to limit their inclusion of tables and figures to presenting information critical to the content of the paper. Excessive use of tables is strongly discouraged.

The journal does not have article processing charges (APCs) nor do we use article submission charges.

Leadership

The Leadership section welcomes articles on Education Leadership broadly construed, including formal and informal leaders across the educational system and across a variety of educational settings.

Policy

The Policy section welcomes articles on Education Policy related to a variety of disciplines and educational settings, as well as policy initiatives that emanate from various levels of government.

Research Use

The Research Use section welcomes articles on all areas of Research Use. Research Use is a broad term that includes three streams focused on using research to improve policy and practice: research on research utilization (studies interrogating the ways in which we use research to effect change in policy and practice); research looking at the ways in which we communicate research; and the application of research (how we systematically apply research to address problems of education policy and practice, such as through meta-analyses or meta-syntheses).

IJEPL occasionally invites submissions in response to a special issue call for papers. If you have been invited by one of the editors to submit a paper in response to a call for papers, please choose this section to facilitate submission and review.
